India's all-rounder Kashvee Gautam became the most expensive uncapped player in the WPL 2024 auctions

In the highly anticipated Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 auctions, Kashvee Gautam, India's promising all-rounder, stole the spotlight by becoming the most expensive uncapped player. The intense bidding war involved Gujarat Giants, RCB, and UP Warriorz, culminating in Gujarat Giants securing her services for a whopping ₹2 crore. Another notable acquisition was Australia's Annabel Sutherland, who emerged as the priciest foreign player, with Delhi Capitals clinching her for ₹2 crore after a spirited bidding battle with Gujarat Titans, who aimed to fill the maximum spots in the WPL 2024 squad.

Representatives from five teams—Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz—engaged in competitive bidding during the WPL auction, making it a spectacle for women's cricket enthusiasts.

UP Warriorz secured  Vrinda Dinesh for ₹1.3 crore

India's batting sensation, Vrinda Dinesh, also garnered significant interest from multiple teams. Ultimately, UP Warriorz secured her for ₹1.3 crore. In their pursuit of strengthening the squad, Gujarat Titans secured another impactful player, Phoebe Litchfield, for ₹1 crore.

Mumbai Indians, secured Ismail for ₹1.2 crore.

The auction showcased a heated battle for South African pacer Shabnim Ismail, with Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians going head-to-head. Eventually, the defending champions, Mumbai Indians, secured Ismail for ₹1.2 crore.

Kashvee Gautam's triumphant return

Kashvee Gautam's triumphant return to the auction spotlight is a noteworthy story. Despite going unsold in the previous year, the right-arm seamer showcased resilience and determination.
